I’ll always associate gingham with my summer school dress. Switching into it from the usual boring grey uniform always marked the start of summer term… And that bit closer to the six week holidays. Well, I am pleased to report gingham is big news again this spring/summer.
On the catwalk, Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney led the way. Both straying away from the usual blue and white combo for dark reds, greens and yellows, breathing fresh life into the print.
While looking for a pink bridesmaid dress, I came across this gingham beauty by Whistles (£122 reduced from £140) with beautiful tailoring and details and had to snap it up! I plan to dress it down on my next holiday with white sneakers and gold bangles. That’s the thing about gingham – it can be worn for almost any occasion.

Here’s some more inspiration if you’re keen to get into the gingham vibe…
